Dela Maranga first burst into the music scene when she featured on Sauti Sol’s first album Mwanzo on the track Mama Papa with Bien-Aime. I think I know all the songs on that album by heart but one of the stand out tracks was definitely that one. She had another song Weche Tek where she proved that she is a legit great vocalist. Taking a risk by doing the Swahili version of Adele’s Hello catapulted her into the star that she really is. Last year was the Mafeelings track and this year she drops another hot one Third Party Lover.
On this track she turns her dancehall vibes on.I was suprised to learn that Cedo did this track.Good job on picking him Dela because from the tracks Dandia and Tumekubali he is the man to go to if you want a club banger. On to the song I love the intro with the accapella voices. The beat drops and you are instantly drawn in. Dela is basically saying in this song that she is not going to share her man with anyone else. She is tired of his lying games and wants out. Even though the song is a song that will definitely get you dancing it still has some really good songwriting. Her voice definitely carries the song taking you through a journey .The beats only serve to enhance the voice as it should be.Artistes take note.
The video was shot by Clarence Peters of Capital Dreams Pictures. As usual his work is good.I love the locations that were used,it looks like they were two separate locations and yet very creatively and well utilized.Looks like the theme was the ratchet look which the wardrobe and make up department did really well especially in making Dela look dangerous and ready for a fight. The dancers have good energy and this makes you the viewer want to dance along as well.
Good song, good video, perfect to dance along to on a Friday night.Get on your dancing shoes ladies and dance away from that third party love.
